Every season has something wonderful
to offer to the Tahsis visitor. All year long bald eagles perch in the trees along the rivers and ocean, swooping down to catch their
fish. In the summer black bears amble along the beach, while Great Blue Herons feed in the shallows.
Sea otters and seal can often be seen playing in inlet out front.
In fall when the salmon are spawning, it's not uncommon to see bears and fishermen
alike along the banks of the rivers. In the
near by estuary and in the inlet right out our front
door, many pairs of returning Trumpter swans settle in for the winter.
Always a beautiful sight. |

| Bird enthusiasts will never
be disappointed. A new (wheel chair
accessable) trail and boardwalk has been built out to the estuary where many varieties
of ducks, birds and the seasonal swans enjoy a safe
haven. In summer hundreds of humming birds come to
fuel up as Tahsis is in their migration path. A monitoring station is
being built for avid humming bird lovers to count and monitor these amazing birds. |
