In August, 1996, my family and I embarked on an adventure of a lifetime, a year working and living in Scotland. We landed in an ancient village on the East Coast of Fife, bordering the Firth of Forth. History, culture, wind, character, and music are just a few words that express my artistic impressions of Great Britain. Light, Celtic, respect, poetry, relics are a few more words that begin to explain my most unexpected emotional connection to this area. Whether it was a stone circle on an island in the North Atlantic or a sacred natural amphitheatre of stone and wooded greens tucked away below a 13th century kirk, I was touched by these reminders of past lives. As well, I was amazed that thousands of years later they still held their aura and fascination.
I was most influenced by Britains unique architecture, diverse landscape and its antiquities. I have used these subjects as inspiration for my new work. This quest is a path that is forever changing and challenging my direction as an artist.
