Although
I often tell people art is my first love, the real love of my
life, of course, is my wife of 29 years, Colleen ... and my three
children;
Jessie,
Lucy, and Ritchie. Colleen is the Chief Negotiator for the Treaty
Process of the Gwa'sala-"Nakwaxda'xw Nations. Without her
support and
encouragement I'd never have been able to paint - or do much of
anything else. In the past few years we have both taken a
greater
interest in our family roots. For myself I was thrilled to
discover that my mother's family were descended from Eduard Marion a
prominent
metis from Manitoba who was connected to Louis Riel and the
Manitoba Rebellion. The picture that linked you here is of Jules
Marion,
a great uncle, who was a sharpshooter in the Buffalo Bill Cody
Show. Last year we went to Scotland and Ireland to further
trace
our family ties.
